June12 Letter

Caleb:

Today was Jacob's farewell and he did a good job.  Sydney sang and I'll send a few pictures and video separately.

One of the things that impressed him was talking to you on Mother's Day.  What was most impressive to him (he said) was your happy, positive attitude.  To him it was an affirmation that going on a mission was the right thing to do.  It is an great example of how a positive attitude blesses everyone it contacts.  Good job.

Yesterday it rained all day and I decided to go out and roll around in the mud and plant trees for Mom.  The yard is finally starting to take shape and it's going to look awesome.  She is a good architect and had the ability to focus on something and get it right.

The lawn looks like hud.  I probably should've laid down sod but I decided not to even with everyone squawking at me.  It will just take a while to fill in and once it does, it will be like a bad dream.  Until then, Mom is frustrated that I didn't take her advice and go sod.

How far are you out of DC?  Bulent tis heading back there and is going to try to schedule a visit with that Turkish investigator.  I'm not sure what will become of that but if he can pull it off, you may see him.

So we'll drop Jacob at the airport on Tuesday and plan on seeing him in a few years.  Life is interesting that way.

Hope everything is going well, Love you,

Dad
